We Have A New Name!

We are excited to announce that Laser for Less is changing to Hello Laser!

We may have a new name, but we are still the same great company that was built on affordable prices, customer service, honesty and integrity back in 2001. We have not been bought out, management has not changed, and the technicians are all the same! This change has been motivated by the chance to grow as a company and we are so excited for the opportunity to do so!

Along with laser hair removal, we still specialize in CoolSculpting, VI and PCA chemical peels, Microneedling, microdermabrasion, and dermaplaning! Whatever your skincare needs may be, we’ve got the solution here!

Our new name is all about creating that friendly, welcoming feeling. So whether you’re coming in for laser hair removal, CoolSculpting, or a skin service, we’d love for you to stop by and say Hello!

My VI Peel Experience

Hi there, my name is Bethany and I’ve been working at Laser for Less for the past year and a few months as a medical aesthetician and certified laser technician! I love my job and truly love making people feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin. With that being said, I’d thought I’d give you an inside peek into my own skin journey!

Around October 2016 I started experiencing some light hormonal breakouts. It wasn’t anything extreme… but it was extremely annoying! By November, I had gone into a full blown acne crisis. I was breaking out all over my cheeks, chin, jawline, neck, chest, shoulders and back. I’ve always enjoyed wearing makeup, but I was at the point where I was caking concealer all over my face. So with my pores being clogged and my hormones being all whacked out, my outer appearance was a mess. I finally decided to set a goal for myself and that was to be able to come to work/leave the house without having to put any makeup on! I thought it was a stretch… but it wasn’t! It’s now September 2017 and I can now come to work almost every day with nothing on my face, except for SPF and a little brow pencil. 😉

I’m sure you’re wondering what miracle products I used to accomplish this goal. Well luckily for you, we have the product in our salon! The VI Peel CHANGED MY LIFE… as well as changing up my diet, home care products and getting on a medication to stabilize my hormones.

IMG_9693 (November 8, 2016)

On November 18, after getting my breakouts somewhat under control, I decided to try the VI Peel. I’ve heard nothing but great things about it and I was really excited to see what it could do for my skin!

The initial treatment wasn’t bad. The peel goes on in a series of 4 layers. The first layer definitely tingled and burned the worst, it was totally bearable. Once the lidocaine mixture kicked in, the remaining layers were pretty painless. The treatment takes less than 30 minutes, but then you have to leave the peel on your skin for at least the next 4 hours. At your appointment you’re given an at-home kit that consists of facial cleanser, pre-moistened peel pads, SPF 50, and hydrocortisone cream. After 4 hours I applied the first pre-moistened peel pad. At this point, my skin was feeling pretty tight. Before bed I cleansed my face with the VI facial cleanser, applied my second pre-moistened peel pad, some hydrocortisone, and then went to bed! The second day my skin was feeling tight and dry. I applied hydrocortisone and spf any time I started to feel TOO dry. By the end of the second night, I was starting to peel around my mouth. Once the peeling starts, there is NO stopping it.

(November 20, 2016)

With the VI Peel, you can except heavy peeling day 3-7. For some people, like myself, you could start peeling on day 2. This type of peeling you want to avoid picking and pulling! Give your skin a week, let it peel, let it do it’s thing. I carried around a small pair of manicure scissors and Aquaphor and any time I had larger pieces of skin hanging (so gross, lol) I’d clip the skin and apply Aquaphor. Keeping your skin hydrated and committing to staying out of the sun is KEY to getting successful results. One other thing that I had to keep reminding myself of was to not worry about other people staring at my skin! Let them stare… Your skin will be GLOWING, so it’s a winning situation for you!

(November 21-24, 2016)

These are all photos from days 3 through 6. By day 7, the peeling on my lower face was mostly gone. I still had some slight flaking happening on my forehead, but unfortunately did not have a picture of that to show you. About a week after my peeling had ended, I was feeling BEYOND confident with how my skin was looking! It wasn’t perfect, there were still some acne scars left behind, but I finally felt more comfortable about not caking makeup on my face. The photo below is taken completely makeup free (minus filling in my brows), but COME ON!

Processed with MOLDIV(Left: November 2016 Right: August 2017 – both photos are makeup free!)

Since November, I have done two microneedling sessions (December 2016 & February 2017) and did one more VI Peel in January 2017. I can absolutely tell a difference with my overall skin health. I have stopped using foundation completely and I’ve been able to totally switch up my makeup routine. As a base, I now only use a tinted SPF and some under eye concealer on days where I’m feeling a little extra tired. The photos don’t lie, this peel is AMAZING. As summer comes to an end and fall is just beginning, this is the perfect time to heavily peel your skin. It’s great for targeting sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, post acne scarring… everything! We recommend doing a VI Peel 2-4 times per year, or with every season change. I promise, you will not regret making your skin a priority. If you have any questions or would like to schedule your next peel, please give our office a call! 480-905-3080

Dermaplaning 101: Shaving Your Face?!

I know what you’re thinking… shaving your face sounds pretty scary! But we’re here to give you an in-depth Q&A post to settle any fears you may have about dermaplaning. This treatment is rapidly growing in popularity in the beauty industry for it’s amazing anti-aging benefits! Keep reading for a special treat at the bottom of this post… 🙂

  • What are the benefits of dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a manual form of exfoliation that takes off the top layer of dead skin, along with all of the vellus hair aka “peach fuzz”. It differs slightly from Microdermabrasion. While being a method of manual exfoliation, it does not remove the hair. The hair on your face can hold excess dirt, oils, and impurities which can clog your pores, so it’s best to remove the hair to avoid any breakouts. Dermaplaning is great for cell regeneration, so it really helps your at-home products to penetrate deep down into your skin. If you’re paying high prices for your skincare products, why would you want to let them sit on top of dead skin? Once all the “fuzz” and dead skin is gone, you’ll be amazed at how much your skin GLOWS. You’ll love the way your makeup applies flawlessly, and you wont need to use as much product, which will save you money in the long run!

  • Will the hair grow back thicker or darker?

Nope! Your body has two different kinds of hair, vellus and terminal. Vellus hair (“peach fuzz”) is the white hair that grows on your face, tops of your feet, upper forearms. It’s the thinnest and most fine hair on your body. It will remain the same color and texture no matter how many times it gets removed from your body. Terminal hair is what grows out of your head, eyebrows, arms and legs. Those are the hairs that are thicker and they will always remain that way. You really wont notice when your vellus hair grows back in because it is so fine. You wont have that stubble like you would if you had shaved your legs.

  • Who is a good candidate?

Basically anyone! If you feel that your skin is looking dull and tired and you’re in need of a pick-me-up, dermaplaning is for you! If you suffer from age spots, sun damage, post acne scars, or any other types of hyperpigmentation this treatment will help tremendously in the fading process. If you’re tired of seeing your “blonde mustache” in the rear view mirror every time the sunlight hits, it may be time to give dermaplaning a shot.

*If you are currently suffering from severe active acne, please avoid getting this treatment as it can spread bacteria and cause more breakouts. If you only have a couple blemishes here and there, they can be worked around. 🙂

  • How is the procedure done?

This sounds a lot scarier than it actually is. Dermaplaning is done with a surgical scalpel that has no guard on it. It’s basically the best straight razor shave you’ve ever had, lol! It’s not painful at all. It’s extremely soothing and relaxing. Your aesthetician will start by cleansing your face, making it dry and free of any dirt, products, or debris. You can pair dermaplaning with any type of peel, facial, or enzyme for deeper exfoliation, or you can get it as a standalone treatment. As a standalone, dermaplaning will take anywhere from 20-30 minutes. It’s super quick and easy!

  • How frequently can I dermaplane?

On average, your skin cells turn over every 28-45 days, depending on your age. Based on personal preference and depending on how much peach fuzz you have, it is best to do this treatment 4-6 weeks apart.

Okay, okay… enough with the Q&A. Let’s get you some savings! $$$

Laser for Less

Our Newest Skincare Product!

We are so excited to announce that we have launched a new product to our skin care line! Are you looking for some added hydration, plumping, and firming?! Get your hands on PCA’s newest product, Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Serum!

Why is hyaluronic acid important for healthy skin? Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring component of human skin. It adds moisture and fullness to the skin. Unfortunately, as you get older, your own body’s hyaluronic acid depletes. By supplementing the production of HA into the skin, deep and long lasting moisture is provided leaving your skin hydrated and glowing! It’s the perfect serum to add to your beauty regimen just in time for the warmer weather! It’s super lightweight, has a smooth texture, but leaves your skin feeling amazing!

Key benefits:

  • Moisture is drawn up to the surface of the skin increasing hydration.
  • Penetrates the skin for deeper moisture and plumping.
  • Encourages and stimulates the skin to produce more of its own hyaluronic acid.
  • Increases the skin’s ability to retain moisture.
  • Can be used under a moisturizer for added hydration.

The team at Laser For Less is OBSESSED with this product! Call or visit one of our offices today to purchase one for yourself… and maybe an extra one because we know you’ll love it so much! 😉 This bad boy retails for $115 and is worth every penny!

Laser for Less

My CoolSculpting Experience

My name is Hayley. I have worked for Laser for Less for many years as a Certified Medical Laser Technician. I love my job and I truly love helping our clients feel better about themselves through hair removal and now giving them their body back through CoolSculpting.

When I first heard that we were bringing on the CoolSculpting technology to Laser for Less I was ecstatic! I had heard a lot about it over the recent years and personally, was extremely curious to see what the hype was all about. This seemed like a perfect treatment for me because even with diet and exercising, I still had stubborn areas of fat that wouldn’t seem to go away. So, on day one I decided to go for it and had my co-workers make me a detailed treatment plan of what areas I would be having treated. We started with my flanks and bra fat on my back. During the treatment, I felt a noticeable vacuum suction and slight chill. The cold feeling went away after about seven minutes and from there I had no real discomfort. After the treatment, I was slightly tender, had noticeable redness and could see a bruise starting to form in the place where one of the applicators had been. I continued throughout the rest of the day as normal and didn’t feel like the treatment restricted any of my activity for the day.

When I woke up the next morning, I was definitely sore to the touch, but no signs of markings or bruises except for where one applicator was on my upper back, it was faint and was gone in 2 days. I didn’t notice any discomfort while I was sleeping on my back or sides. I went back to work that day and the rest of the week as normal. It really only gave me discomfort when I applied pressure to the area.

On the third day, I noticed that the area was swollen and appeared larger than it did pre-treatment. The swelling only lasted a few more days and then was back to normal. Closer to day five post treatment, while I was running errands, I experienced a “zinger” or two. This is where the nerve endings are coming out of a frozen state and starting to regain their feeling. It only happened the two times to me but it can happen more frequently depending on the person. Around day seven, my hips felt like I had a weight belt that was detached from my body and barely hanging on, almost as though the fat had completely detached and was beginning to shed away. After the first week was over, the area still felt numb when I would touch it, but it was nothing that bothered me.

We decided to continue on to the next areas that I would be treating. We started with the chin and this was the only area that had a different experience than the rest. The applicator goes directly under the chin while it is on for 45 minutes you cannot speak, eat or drink. Swallowing was difficult and slightly painful, but not impossible. They warned me that some people get a tension headache, which I did experience; felt more like I was wearing a headband too tight. After they took the applicator off, the 2-minute post treatment massage was uncomfortable. When the 2-minute massage was over, it felt nice to put pressure on the area with a wash cloth for about 5 minutes then the pain was gone. I noticed slight swelling of the area, but no other noticeable side effects. Again, the area was numb for a few days. I regained feeling after about two weeks.

Since my first round of treatments we have also treated my stomach, inner thighs, banana rolls and the second round of my chin. The banana rolls are the extra tissue located underneath the buttocks. The second round on the chin was similar to the first but the 2-minute post treatment massage was more sensitive this time. However, any discomfort went away after about five minutes like the first. All of the other areas treated reacted the same way as my flanks and bra fat as described above. We took pictures of my stomach and back about nine weeks’ post treatment and the results already are showing. I am amazed with the outcome and would highly suggest this treatment to anyone who is looking to get rid of stubborn fat that diet and exercise may not be doing the trick for.

So, I would just like to say, one of the things I love about our company is that we test everything out on ourselves first, because if we can’t stand behind what we do and be sure that the equipment we invest in actually works, then we won’t do it. So, my verdict on CoolSculpting is a very pleased YES, it does work! I will edit with updated pictures once my transformation is complete!

If you’ve been thinking about CoolSculpting or have any questions, we would be happy to answer them over the phone for you, or you can feel free to come in for a free consultation. Let’s see how Laser for Less can help you reach your body shape goals with CoolSculpting!

CoolSculpting results are proven, noticeable, and lasting, so you’ll look and feel great from every angle.

It comes down to science. Fat cells freeze at higher temperatures than surrounding tissues. The treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), and then die. Over time, your body naturally processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells, leaving a more sculpted you.

It’s easy to sit back, relax and say goodbye to stubborn fat. After we select the area(s) to be treated, the device or two devices are positioned on your body and controlled cooling is applied. During your procedure, you may choose to read, watch a movie, check email or even take a nap.

The CoolSculpting fat freezing procedure is completely non-surgical, so you can typically return to work and normal activities immediately.

You will like what you see. In the weeks and months following your procedure, your body naturally processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells. Once the treated fat cells are gone, they’re gone for good!

Microneedling at Laser for Less

Laser for Less is up to something again! 2016 has been a crazy year of expanding and why stop here? We are now offering microneedling at all THREE locations!

Microneedling, also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy, is a skin treatment used to rebuild collagen and rejuvenate skin. The electric pen that is used to perform the treatment uses a fractional delivery of needles making micro injuries to the epidermis. The trauma simulates the regrowth of your skin. The technology used today is much more advanced and has several safety features that prevent the tearing of the skin that the traditional rollers can do.

Why Micro Needle?

  • Fast
  • Safe
  • Cost effective alternative to laser resurfacing
  • Treats scarring, wrinkles, acne scarring, stretch marks, and pore reduction
  • Minimal pain
  • Little to no downtime
  • Great for all skin times
  • Easily treat hard to reach areas
  • Improves skin suffering from hyper-pigmentation and hypo-pigmentation
  • Creates a fresher appearance or glow to your skin

We are taking appointments for this treatment now, and make sure to ask what the special is for October! Spoiler alert: It’s for microneedling!

Phoenix is OPEN!

Our Phoenix location is officially up and running! We are so excited to add this third location to the Laser for Less family. It is on the Northeast corner of 24th and Indian School inside the Biltmore Suites. The location will offer everything the other two offices have such as laser hair removal, VI Peel, PCA chemical Peel, microdermabrasion and, soon to be offered at all three locations, dermaplaning and micro-needling. We are so excited to expand and can’t wait for you to come see the new location.

Bethany is our rock star laser technician and aesthetician who will be holding the fort down at the Phoenix location. A few of our other technicians from the Scottsdale and Chandler locations will be there on certain days as well.  Here is a little more information about Bethany.

“Hi, I’m Bethany! I’m originally from Prescott, AZ, but moved to Phoenix about 7 years ago. Growing up, my dad was in the Air Force, so I’ve also been blessed enough to live all over the country. When I’m not working, I spend most of my time with my dog, Franklin. We enjoy watching TV together, taking trips to the park, going for rides, playing fetch with socks, sleeping and cuddling. I also enjoy spending quality time with my family, being outdoors, cooking, going to country concerts, and going out with my friends.

I’ve always had a love for the beauty industry. When I was younger, I always thought I wanted to be a makeup artist, but as I got older, I fell more in love with medical aesthetics. I graduated from The Skin and Makeup Institute of Arizona with certifications in microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, chemical peels, manual lymphatic drainage, natural body detoxification, Aryuveda skin typing, and basic aesthetics. I continued my education even further and went on to graduate from National Laser Institute in Scottsdale, AZ. There, I became a certified laser technician, laser safety officer, and also got certifications in different types of laser skin rejuvenation/skin resurfacing, laser tattoo removal, skin tightening, and collagen induction.

I’m so excited to be at Laser For Less, where I can put my education to use, and do my part to make someone feel beautiful about themselves.”

We can’t wait to have you come see the office, meet Bethany and continue or begin your laser hair removal and aesthetics journey! We are open Monday – Saturday 10a.m.-5p.m. give us a call at any time to book your next appointment! 480-905-3080
